Ch. 16 Ep. 7: For You
Ayumu still thinks about school idols, even during her absence from the club. She is then stunned by how ignorant people are to your efforts and realizes how much she truly wants the School Idol Festival to go ahead.
Ayumu
*Huff* *Puff*
Ayumu
Everyone!
[Fade in/out.]
Ayumu
Huh? Nobody's here.
Ayumu
Where is everyone?
Ayumu
I'm sure they've gotta be around somewhere since the deadline to gather the volunteers is almost up.
Ayumu
Maybe they've all gone to personally ask people to help out?
Ayumu
Oh, sounds like someone's here. Thank goodness there's still someone around.
Shioriko
Hello?
Ayumu
Huh?! Shioriko? What are you doing here?!
Shioriko
I should be the one asking you that. What brings you to the clubroom after school hours? I saw you in here on my way home and came to check on you.
Ayumu
I came to apologize to everyone! Um, I figured I should say sorry since I was the one in the wrong. I also want to help them gather volunteers again!
Shioriko
Is that so? Unfortunately, everybody appears to have given up.
Ayumu
What?!
Shioriko
It appears as though they have come to the conclusion that they cannot gather the specified number of volunteers by the deadline.
Shioriko
It was never going to be possible for mere students to gather 1,000 volunteers for the event.
Shioriko
While I did think there was a slight possibility, they panicked and got too pushy with their requests, which seems to have ruined people's impressions.
Ayumu
You're talking about the stuff being posted online, right? If you know about it, then the rest of the club members probably do too, right?
Shioriko
Most likely.
Ayumu
But all that talk is just speculation! Didn't anyone explain to them why they're all working so hard to hold the festival?!
Shioriko
…
Ayumu
I'm sure the people posting online just don't understand… I know they'll get it if we just explain everything to them.
Ayumu
Things can't just be left like this. No one's been told a thing, I bet. They're completely misunderstanding her!
Ayumu
They're saying things like she doesn't understand how school idols feel because she's not one herself. That's not true at all.
Shioriko
You…
Ayumu
I want everyone to know exactly what drives us to be school idols and why we want to have a School Idol Festival!
Ayumu
All of these people were looking forward to the School Idol Festival to begin with. I just know they'll lend us a hand if we get our message across to them! So that's why…
Shioriko
You are the only one feeling so insistent about this now, Ayumu. It appears as though your president and the other club members consider themselves out of options.
Shioriko
If you want to get your message across, you will have to do it yourself. Are you capable of that?
Ayumu
…Of course I am!
Shioriko
Would I be correct to assume that this means you will be resuming your role as a school idol?
Ayumu
W-Well… I said such horrible things to everyone, so I don't know…
Shioriko
Why are you so hesitant after saying such bold things? Just say what you want to do. Lying to yourself will only bring you pain.
Shioriko
I know that you were more passionate and worked harder as a school idol than anybody else in your club. You would not be able to do that if you did not love it.
Shioriko
So you should just be honest with yourself and do what you want to do. Isn't that why you're here right now? Because you realized this yourself?
Ayumu
Shioriko, I…
Ayumu
I want to continue being a school idol!
Ayumu
I love school idols and everyone in the club! So I want them all to know how I feel, and I want them to know the truth! All of it!
Shioriko
Looks like your feelings have settled. I was waiting to hear you say that. Please allow me to help you as well.
Ayumu
What?
Shioriko
We will broadcast your feelings and everything you want to say to the world through a video-sharing website.
Ayumu
What?!
Shioriko
We must make haste while you still have that passion burning inside of you. Please write a script of what you would like to say while I make preparations.
[Fade in/out.]
Shioriko
Right then, I have finished preparing for the live stream.
Ayumu
I'm sorry for always leaving everything up to you.
Shioriko
Don't be. It's my duty as the student council president to offer my assistance to other students. More importantly, have you finished writing your script?
Ayumu
After some thought, I don't actually need a script. I'm going to just tell everyone how I feel right now.
Ayumu
There's one thing that I can talk about with more confidence than anybody else.
Shioriko
What might that be?
Ayumu
Our club president!
Ayumu
I know her better than anybody else in the whole world, so that's what I'm gonna try to convey to everyone—who she is and the effort she's put into the School Idol Festival.
Shioriko
I am sure you're the perfect person to articulate this. Right then, I will start filming. Are you ready?
Ayumu
Yup!
