Umi Ep. 31: Feelings About My Performance
Umi took on a work-study at a maid café, but can't hide her reluctance to wear a maid outfit. Ruby ends up encouraging Umi while Umi teaches her dancing.

Now it's time for a big turn!
Ruby
Oh, umm… Whoops!
Umi
Ruby, there's no need to look at me while we're dancing. It will only serve to put us out of sync.
Umi
If you need somewhere to look, I'd prefer it be forwards where the audience will be. We want to experience all the love and emotion felt by the people who come to watch us!
Ruby
Umi, you're focused on the audience's feelings even while you're dancing?!
Ruby
I'm not a very good dancer so I don't really feel comfortable looking at the audience…
Umi
You mustn't tell yourself that you aren't good, Ruby. In my opinion, your dancing is quite captivating!
Ruby
Oh, thank you Umi! Knowing you feel that way will motivate me to try even harder!
Umi
On a similar note, there's no need to look out at the audience the entire time you're dancing either.
Umi
Speaking of which, you have a solo part during your next dance routine, don't you Ruby? What if you prioritized looking towards the audience during that section?
Umi
You might pick out one person to look at, or move your eyes across the entire seating area. Either way, if you're going to do it you should do it thoroughly!
Ruby
Right! You always give me advice about things I never even consider, Umi. I'm learning so much from you!

*Giggle* Thanks to you, I bet I'll be able to understand the audience's feelings a lot better than I have before.
