Shizuku Ep. 35: A Self-Reflective Performance
Shizuku's flyer campaign was a success, and the club president's monodrama has received a lot of publicity. Despite this, she suddenly stops performing it. Shizuku is deflated, upset that she may have gone too far.
Player
Have you calmed down a bit?
Shizuku
Yes…
Player
You disappeared out of nowhere, so everyone in the School Idol Club and Theater Club was worried.
Shizuku
I'm sorry. I just can't bring myself to face them.
Player
You think that it's your fault that the club president gave up the monodrama?
Shizuku
I don't just think it's my fault… I know it is.
Player
But, based on what you've told me before, she doesn't sound like someone who would give up on a performance that easily.
Shizuku
Well… That's true, but this time may be different.
Player
That's why I went and asked her about it.
Shizuku
Huh?!
Shizuku
…What did she say?
Player
She laughed. She was like, “So that flyer was Shizuku's idea, huh?”
Player
When she said the performance wasn't something meant for an audience, it seems it was because she made it as a means for some self-reflection.
Shizuku
Self-reflection?
Player
Mhm. Remember how she said she was scouted by a lot of theater troupes? She said she was worried about whether she was capable of joining one and performing for them properly.
Player
She said that she had always just been performing however she wanted and didn't really get why people were praising her for it. She is happy to be appreciated, but…
Player
…she's not sure if she would do well in a theater company because she's only ever followed her own rules. That's why she tried thinking it over with a performance.
Shizuku
The club president was worried? So she performed a monodrama to help answer her own questions?
Player
That seems to be the case.
Player
She wanted to do some soul-searching and figure out if she could perform for someone else, and if she wants to do that at all.
Player
She said seeing you perform is what made her think about those questions.
Shizuku
What?! Me?
Player
You manage to naturally combine performing how you want with performing so that others enjoy it.
Player
That means you're performing both for yourself and for others. It's really amazing.
Player
She said that she really respects you, from the bottom of her heart.
Shizuku
It can't be… I've admired the club president for such a long time! I was so moved when I came to Nijigasaki and saw her perform.
Option 1: “You should tell her.” |
---|
Player You should tell her all of that. Shizuku Okay! I'll go right now! |
Option 2: “You were both fans of each other all along.” |
Player The two of you were both fans of each other all along. Shizuku Do you think I really can look at it that way? …I'm going to see her right now! |
Shizuku
Thank you very much!
