Riko Ep. 24: The View Is the Reward
The next stop on your three-person tour of Numazu is Awashima. Climbing the long stone steps leading up to Awashima Shrine is practically a training session in and of itself. Gasping for breath, you chase after Ai and Riko.

Hup! Whoop! Huttah!

It's dangerous to go so fast, Ai!

This is the Awashima Shrine, right? The stone steps go on for so long. It's sure worth the climb! Aqours run up these steps for training too, don't they?
Riko
We do! It was a grueling climb the first time I did it. I felt like I was about to pass out by the time I reached the top.
Ai
Really? Seems like you've got energy to spare to me.
Riko
That's because I've stayed dedicated to training every day. And if anyone's got energy to spare it's you, Ai!
Ai
*Giggle* I put the A-I in daily training! Hey, how about the three of us race to the top?

C-Can't… Can't go on… Legs… Like jelly…
Riko
M-Maybe we should rest a bit.
[Fade in/out.]

F-Finally made it… Top… *Pant* *Wheeze* I'm gone…

Here, use my handkerchief to wipe off your sweat.

No, no, I'm tired too! But taking in this gorgeous view is blasting away all of my exhaustion.

The view… Oh wow, I can see the ocean and the town… It's beautiful!
Riko
Isn't it lovely? I adore it too. Knowing that this view is waiting for me at the top motivates me to climb the stone steps.
Riko
The ocean looks especially pretty from here. I feel this mysterious pull, like it's trying to speak to me…as if it wants me to notice something important.
Ai
Your hometown's such a nice place, Riko.
Riko
Mm-hmm. It really is a great area. But seeing as I moved here from Tokyo, I don't know if I can call it my hometown like Chika and the others do…
