Kotori Ep. 21: Kotori's Guardian Angels
After regaining her school-idol-costume groove, Kotori helped to pull off a hugely successful Printemps sub-unit live show. Afterward, the three childhood friends—Kotori, Honoka, and Umi—appear to be making fine progress at practice together.
Player
Thanks for coming to club practice today! Even with just the three of you, I think you all made a lot of progress.
Kotori
But of course! As long as Honoka, Umi, and I are together, we can do anything!
Honoka
The three of us have been together foreeever. Even before we became school idols!
Umi
*Giggle* Yes. The three of us have played and spent time together ever since we were children.
Player
Really? What kind of stuff did you do when you were little?
Kotori
Hmm… Just the normal stuff like playing house and hide-and-seek.
Honoka
Yeah! Hide-and-seek! We did that so much when we were kids.
Player
Ooh, really?
Umi
Whenever Honoka was it, she would call out, “Hurry up and come out!” to us.
Kotori
Yeah, she did! I'd always come out even though I totally knew that I would get caught.
Player
*Giggle* Honoka was quite the tactician, huh.
Honoka
Huh? Was that how it happened?
Kotori
And whenever Umi was it, she would say, “I can sense your presence,” and find us immediately.
Honoka
I mean, she was practically psychic!
Umi
I wasn't psychic by any definition. However, I'd wager that I could hear your slight footsteps and the sounds of leaves shuffling from your movements.
Player
I love hearing about all of this! What was Kotori like when she was it then?
Kotori
Um, I struggled to find the other two a lot when I was it…
[Fade in/out.]
Player
Honoka and Umi do seem hard to catch.
Kotori
Once when we were playing, I searched for a really long time but couldn't find them at all. And then the sun went down.
Kotori
I was all alone, and right as I was about to start crying, Honoka and Umi immediately leaped out towards me.
Kotori
They were like, “We can't make Kotori cry!”
Player
Wow, what a story!

When you both came to get me that time, I felt as though I had seen two real guardian angels!
Honoka
Whaaat? Aw, you flatter us!
Umi
Now that I think about it, we should have come out of hiding and gone to you earlier. I'm sorry, Kotori.
Kotori
It's all right! I really did feel like I saw two angels that day.
Kotori
You've been friends with Ayumu since you were very young, right?
Player
Yeah! Ayumu came to help me when I was lost before, so your story sounded pretty similar to mine!
Kotori
*Giggle* I bet Ayumu also looked like an angel to you back then.
Player
*Chuckle* Maybe. It sure is great having childhood friends, huh?
Player
Come to think of it, there's also a group of childhood friends in Aqours, isn't there?
Kotori
You're right! *Giggle* Maybe we should go and ask them about their stories!
