Kotori, Honoka, and Umi have been friends since they were children, much like how Ayumu and you are childhood friends. When Kotori hears your stories, she's reminded of the group of childhood friends in Aqours as well.

We played in a mikan-orange grove before, but everyone got found straight away because the tree trunks are so slender! *Chuckle* I've got plenty of memories of those days!
You
There were times where I saved Chika when she got lost. And I've saved Kanan before too!

And on the flip side, they've also been the ones to save me! *Laugh* Have all childhood friends experienced that?

*Giggle* It seems like it!

We have more friends now that we're high schoolers, but there's something special about childhood friends.
You
For sure. We've only made it this far because we'd laugh together during the fun times and support each other during the tough times.

I think I only managed to take the leap into the world of school idols because I had Honoka and Umi with me.
Kotori
They really are special to me!
You
You could say that again. I probably wouldn't be a school idol either if Chika didn't invite me.
Kotori
And that also means that we might not even have crossed paths if we didn't become school idols, You.

Not even crossed paths?! The thought of that gave me chills!

Yeah. It's scary, huh? So if we think about it that way, I feel like this is all just one humongous miracle.
