I longed for the glittering world that I would see in magazines or on TV, which couldn't be found on the island.

I had confidence in my figure so I thought I'd try and put myself out there…

I practiced doing my makeup, took photos of me doing my best to look mature, and applied to the magazines that I read regularly to become a model.

Which, of course, was a huge success. So, that's how you ended up leaving your island!

Oh, but your parents must have been concerned about you heading out to Tokyo on your own.

Winning them over was no easy task. I really had to buckle down and study…
