Ayumu Ep. 23: I Want to Protect Our Earth!
At the grand school event that is the Nijigasaki Film Festival, clubs hoping to win will screen their films. Each club has asked a School Idol Club member for promotion help. Ayumu's helping the Sci-Fi Club!
Player
Ayumu, good evening. I'm here.
Ayumu
Urgh… *Sniffle*
Option 1: “What's wrong?!” |
---|
Player Whoa! Ayumu, what's wrong?! Are you hurt? Ayumu Oh, s-sorry. I'm not hurt… |
Option 2: “Don't cry!” |
Player Whoa! Ayumu, don't cry! Ayumu Wah?! S-Sorry! It's not what you think! |
[Fade in/out.]
Player
Geez, don't scare me like that. I thought my heart had stopped.
Ayumu
*Giggle* I'm sorry. I just got really into what I was reading.
Player
Is that the Sci-Fi Club's script for the film festival?
Ayumu
Yeah. I was asked to read it now that it's finished.
Player
What's it about?
Ayumu
Umm, it's a little bit futuristic. Martians come to invade the Earth and totally destroy it.
Ayumu
The main character is a scientist, and she loses everyone important to her because of the Martians.
Ayumu
Then she mods the spaceship the Martians came on to be a time machine and goes back to the past to prevent all of that tragedy from happening.
Ayumu
But she fails over and over. Still, she doesn't give up and keeps going back in time, saving the world a little bit more each time.
Ayumu
So when I thought about everything that happened to her, I started to cry… *Sob*
Player
D-Don't cry, Ayumu!
Ayumu
And… And that scientist also has a childhood friend who tells her not to cry so I got even more…
Ayumu
Ah, no! I'm not gonna cry!
Ayumu
Because I asked you here today to get your advice!
Player
It's fine. I already know you're the type of girl to cry at the drop of a hat because you're so easily moved. You've been like that forever.
Ayumu
Aww, c'mon!
Player
Sorry, sorry. But that really does sound like a moving story.
Ayumu
Right? That's why I wanna do my very best to help them promote the film. I know we discussed it a little in the clubroom earlier, but I'd like to officially ask for your help.
Player
You mean with the signature song for the film? Of course!
Ayumu
Thank you! That's so reassuring to hear.
[Fade in/out.]
Shioriko
You want to make a signature song to promote the sci-fi club?
Ayumu
Yeah! Will the student council grant permission for us to help them that way?
Shioriko
Sure, that's all right. In fact, I anticipated this might happen after listening to all of you the other day. I've already given permission to Kasumi and Karin.
Player
What? You saw this coming, Shioriko?
Shioriko
More or less, yes. As a school representative, I'm very grateful to anything that drums up excitement for the film festival. Couldn't you even make it the film's opening song?
Ayumu
What?! No, I think that would be too presumptuous…
Player
Hmm, but I'd love to hear an opening song sung by you. Let's go and discuss it with the Sci-Fi Club right now, Ayumu!
Ayumu
Y-You don't have to pull me like that!
