Rina #391: What I'm Good At
Rina
I feel like I finally get what you've been saying lately, Karin.
Rina
It's tough to stay dedicated to training. I'm really feeling that now. Rina-chan Board says, “Whimper.”
Karin
I understand. It happens to everyone, once in a while.
Rina
How do you stay motivated, Karin?
Karin
I think in my case, I've gotten used to the routine.
Karin
I get really restless if I don't exercise. If anything, missing a workout is what feels wrong to me. Do you feel that way about anything, Rina?
Rina
Hmm, maybe… Like how I always check my social media accounts?
Karin
Yeah, exactly, like that.
Rina
I just can't help myself when it comes to that.
Karin
It's the same with training. Once you reach the point where it feels weird to NOT work out, you'll naturally make it a habit.
Rina
Okay. But how do I get to that point? Rina-chan Board says, “Question mark?”
Karin
Maybe you can think about something you're good at, as an example.
Karin
For instance, you're really good at making apps, aren't you, Rina?
Rina
Yeah.
Karin
I heard that keeping a record of your daily practice can be really motivating, in the long run.
Karin
If there was an app where you can easily log how long you've spent on practice, and how often, maybe it would motivate you to keep going. What do you think?
Rina
I think I get it. I do like keeping logs.
Karin
Why don't you give it a try? I'll help you make it. I've always wanted to learn that tech stuff.
Rina
Yeah, that sounds fun. Thank you, Karin. I've rebooted my motivation! Rina-chan Board says, “On fire!”
