I wouldn't say I'm too good at bowling, but I can do it as well as anyone else. How come?
Player
I went bowling with my family the other day, but they laughed at me. I couldn't knock over a single pin.
Eli
*Giggle* So you want to practice, then?
Eli
Sure, I'll help you out!
Eli
It's pretty common to throw the ball too hard and totally miss. Instead of giving it a powerful throw, you want to give it a balanced roll.
Player
Oh, I get it. So you'd roll it like this, I think?
Eli
You're still putting in too much force.
Eli
You want to relax your shoulders, like this. Now lower your center of gravity.
Player
Wh-Whoa.
Player
(Eli's so close…and whispering into my ear! Getting nervous!)
Eli
Swing your arm straight, and the ball will naturally roll out like a pendulum.
Player
(Urgh, I'm so nervous.)
Eli
All right, let's try this right away.
Player
(I hope I didn't miss anything she told me out of nerves. Hm, so how should I throw it?)

Woo! You did it, you knocked over eight pins!
Player
Wow, the pins are down! I can't believe it!
Eli
Next, take a good look at those last two pins and go for a spare!
Player
Yeah!

(If Eli teaches me, it feels like I'm going to get even better!)
Eli
Oh, that was fun! You pick things up really easily, so it's really worth teaching you!
Player
Oh, you're just such a good teacher, Eli. Thanks for today!
Player
