Ch. 8 Ep. 2: Move Out!

You steel yourself and call the head of the School Idol Festival Planning Committee. Unfortunately, the Olympics aren't the only reason it's been canceled. Then, Honoka calls to see if everyone can gather on the weekend.

Honoka

Sorry for asking everyone to come over here all of a sudden.

Chika

Thanks for coming today, everyone!

Honoka

So, Chika and I were talking, and we just can't give up on the School Idol Festival.

Chika

Yeah. When we thought about how ÎĽ's, Aqours, and all the Nijigasaki school idols would be performing together on the main stage, we knew we just have to make it happen!

Eli

I was wondering why you called us all here. And you don't need to tell me twice. I feel the same way.

Dia

Indeed, I also feel that way.

Honoka

I knew we all felt the same way! So that said, let's help the committee out so we can get the School Idol Festival back on track!

Player

……

Nico

What, why's your mouth hanging open?

Ayumu

O-Oh, please, don't get the wrong idea! I think she's just so surprised she can't speak. Because, well, we were thinking the same thing.

Chika

You were?

Player

Yeah! I had the same idea, so I called the Festival Committee with Ayumu, saying that we'd do anything to help open the festival again.

Kanan

Ahaha, that sounds like you.

Rin

Wow, that's some real initiative!

Kasumi

*Giggle* Sure is. That's our club president!

Umi

So, what did the committee members say?

Player

Er, well, about that…

[Fade in/out.]

Riko

Oh, so that's what was going on.

Mari

So on top of the venue problem, the committee disbanded and the main members all dropped out, huh. Hmm, that's one heavy burden on top of another.

Nozomi

They're right about it being pointless if they drop the scope, too.

Chika

But even so, all of us–

Chika

No, everyone who loves school idols can't want to just give up on the School Idol Festival.

Honoka

Yeah, that's the spirit! Besides, we've found out exactly why it got canceled, so that means if we solve that problem, we can get the festival back on track.

Honoka

There's hope!

Player

If we put our heads together, I think it'll go over well! Let's do our best, everyone! Er, but I still don't know what we need to do.

Ayumu

I figured you'd say that.

Emma

*Giggle* I feel a bit more cheerful now. And if you don't know what to do, we can probably figure it out if we all think on it.

Kotori

Well, whatever we do, we'll have to find a venue. How should we look for it, though?

You

Can we ask the founding members who left to come back, somehow?

Setsuna

I see. If we get them back, the solution may become clear.

Ai

But, hey, we don't even know what they're like, you know? How are we gonna ask them?

Hanamaru

You should probably call the committee head again, zura.

Ruby

Y-Yeah, good idea. And…someone could look up info on the past events?

Rina

I'll check it out. Rina-chan Board says, “Serious!”

Rina

Ah, found it! Take a look.

Kanata

Uh, who? Who am I looking at? *Yawn* The small letters are making me sleepy. G'night.

Nico

Hey, no sleeping on the job! Wake up! Look, right here! There's a familiar face.

Shizuku

Huh? Wh-Who?

Nico

This one here, Kaoruko. She's really famous. They say she built the School Idol Festival from the ground up all on her own.

Ruby

I-I know her, too!

Ruby

She wasn't actually a school idol herself, but she was a big fan of them just like me and supported them in all sorts of ways.

Hanayo

Oh, I know her, too! She's pretty well-known!

Ayumu

You know, she sounds kind of like you.

Player

Wh-Whoa, we're not nearly on the same level! But she loved school idols and started an event for them, huh.

Player

I wonder what kind of person she is? I want to meet her and hear her out.

Eli

Let's go and speak to this Kaoruko, then.

Dia

If she was involved in starting the first School Idol Festival, she must be particularly passionate about it. I can't imagine she'd watch this happen in silence.

Kasumi

But wouldn't the committee people have already contacted her? Wouldn't that mean it didn't work out?

Umi

No, we can't jump to that conclusion yet. How about you talk to the committee head again, including about that?

Player

Good idea. I'll give that a try. It's worth a go! And if it doesn't work, let's think of something else.

Honoka

Yeah! Let's give every option we've got a try!

Everyone

Yeahhh!

Setsuna

U-Um, everyone! Sorry, but it's almost time for the clubs to head home.

Honoka

Oh, sorry for keeping you so long! Let's all head home, then.

Chika

Hold on a sec, Honoka! We're all here, on a day with no school? Let's go have some fun!

Player

Oh, I agree with that! What does everyone want to do?

(Yoshiko) To the gathering place of fallen angels, Harajuku!
(Kasumi) I'm pretty hungry!
(Honoka) I want to go to your house.

Maki

Fine, fine. How about we just all go where we want, then?

Chika

I'm for that!

[Fade in/out.]

???

Excuse me. Is the student council president in at the moment?

Student Council Member

Oh, I'm sorry. The president left this morning on important business.

???

I see. Is she always like that?

Student Council Member

Oh, no, today was an exception. She seems to be really serious about whatever it was.

???

So, someone who should stand at the top of the student body, guiding it along, is putting herself first. I knew it. I have to change things.
