Ch. 32 Ep. 4: Waves of Worries

The ÎĽ's girls start going through the emails sent through the fansite. Each sender has a great weight on their shoulders, and the girls take each problem on as if it were their own.

Player

I'm not sure if I can give you guys good advice, but sure. What's on your mind?

Nozomi

The promo video for the School Idol Exhibition, of course. We're stuck on what song to use.

Honoka

What song would you pick?

Player

Huh? That's too hard for me to answer… I like all your songs, and they all have their different emotions intertwined within. I can't make this decision.

Player

All I'm confident in saying is that I think whatever song you all pick together will make for the best promo video ever.

Nico

It's a given that we'll make the best promo video ever. But if we're going to make one, we want it to be the best of the best!

Kotori

It's hard for us to pick precisely because each song means something to us.

Eli

I feel the same way. Part of me feels that any song would do, but I also want to create a promo video with the perfect song.

Player

All the more reason for me to step back! This is something that μ's—and μ's alone—can solve.

Player

I guess your only option is to keep discussing with each other until you find something that everyone thinks is perfect.

Umi

I suppose that really is the only answer.

Nozomi

Yeah. We'll give it more thought.

Hanayo

*Giggle* Let's all have a meeting about it another day!

Hanayo

But before that, we have to focus on our advice column.

Rin

That's right! We still have a ton to get through!

Eli

Hey, is this something that we have to finish by the end of the day? Look at how much we've got left…

Player

Don't worry. The fansite staff knew you guys would need some time when they saw how many submissions came through.

Player

But wow, I don't think anyone expected this many to come in. It might cut into the time you need to make the promo video… I'm sorry.

Umi

It's no problem at all.

Nico

Yeah, no worries! We got all these emails because we're popular, after all!

[Fade in/out.]

Honoka

Everyone's worried about so many different things…

Umi

Unlike you, Honoka.

Honoka

How rude! I've got worries of my own too!

Eli

Oh? Like what? I'm very interested to know what's bothering you.

Honoka

Um… Like what I should have for lunch tomorrow and stuff…

Umi

I don't think that qualifies as a worry.

Eli

I was hoping you'd at least mention your tests or something.

Rin

Um… “I'm not good at studying. What can I do to get good scores on my tests?” What do you think, Nico?

Nico

That's a question I'D like to ask!

Maki

Why not simply try harder in your studies?

Nico

That advice gets a zero out of ten. You don't get it at all. If I could do that, then I wouldn't have the same problem.

Rin

You tell her!

Maki

Why am I the one being attacked right now?!

Maki

Whatever. Let's move on to the next one.

Maki

Oh… This is…

Hanayo

What is it, Maki?

Kotori

Let's see what this email says…

Kotori

“My dream is to become a manga artist. I'm drawing manga every day at my school club so that I can make my dream come true.”

Kotori

“But my teachers and parents are against it. They keep telling me to take my future more seriously and won't offer me their support.”

Kotori

“I'm taking my dream extremely seriously and want to fulfill it, but sometimes I wonder if I'm too naive in my thinking.”

Kotori

“Should I give up on my dream and pursue something with more security?” And that's it.

Kotori

That's a difficult one. It's easy to tell someone not to give up on their dreams, but saying that too lightly is just as irresponsible.

Hanayo

That's true. I haven't had the chance to think about what I want to do in the future at all… I'm not sure I'm fit to give any advice.

Maki

Could I have this one? I want to think of something to tell the writer.

Nozomi

Are you sure you're okay to handle it on your own?

Maki

I'll be fine, but I need a little time to think about it. I want to pick my words carefully.

Maki

Is that all right?

Player

Of course. We'll leave that one to you, then. Good luck!

Rin

I'm kinda stuck on this one email.

Eli

Let's see… “We're moving because of my mom's work, so I have to change schools next month.”

Eli

“I don't want to say goodbye to my current friends, and I don't know if I'll be able to make any friends at my new school.”

Eli

“I get so depressed thinking about having to change schools. What should I do?”

Eli

That's another difficult one. I feel like it's one of those situations where nothing we can say will ease her anxiety…

Rin

I want to think up something to tell her! I want to let her know that everything will be okay. That'll give her the little push that she needs!

Player

Got it. We'll leave it with you, Rin.

Kotori

Honoka, you've been quiet for a while now. What's up?

Honoka

Oh, I just found an email that's got me a little concerned.

Honoka

“Going to school is agonizing. There's nothing fun about it. School is so boring, and I don't like it.”

Honoka

“I want to ask if everyone in μ's likes going to school. If you do, why do you like it?”

Honoka

Why do I like going to school? I've never thought about it before.

Honoka

But for this girl, she can't even begin to ask herself that question.

Honoka

School, huh… Why DO I like going to school so much?
