Ch. 32 Ep. 10: Reasons to Like School
Rin arrives at the answer she needs after confronting her anxieties. Honoka has an epiphany of her own after witnessing her friend's triumph.
Rin
I'm so glad I was able to write a good reply to that email. It was on my mind for so long.
Nico
Don't forget that I helped you get there with my wise words.
Hanayo
Yeah. Thank you, Nico.
Rin
It's all thanks to Kayo-chin, not you, Nico.
Nico
Hey! I was the one who started it!
Maki
You actually say some pretty insightful things sometimes, Nico.
Eli
She could really work on reading the room, though.
Nozomi
Where would our Nico-chi be without those qualities?
Nico
Could you guys lay off the backhanded compliments?!
Player
I see everyone's getting closer to successfully replying to all those tricky emails.
Honoka
Wait! I'm not done yet!
Honoka
I've been thinking about it for a long time, but I haven't had my light-bulb moment yet…
Umi
Are you talking about the girl who doesn't find school fun?
Kotori
Should we let someone else answer it, then?
Honoka
No, it's okay. I want to be the one to reply.
Umi
But you haven't been able to settle on a response at all, have you?
Kotori
I know you've been worrying about this email ever since you received it.
Honoka
Y-You could tell?
Umi
Of course we could. You are like an open book.
Honoka
Ahaha…
Honoka
Oh, right. I don't have to come up with the answer entirely by myself.
Honoka
I can ask everyone here for help too!
Honoka
Hey, there's no rule saying that only one person can reply to an email, right? Can all of ÎĽ's answer?
Player
It didn't ask for any particular person to reply so yeah, of course.
Honoka
All right! I think I've got this now!
Honoka
Even if I can't do it by myself, I can still succeed with the help of everyone here with me.
Honoka
So guys! Please worry over this email with me!
Maki
You finally asked.
Nico
Geez, that took you long enough.
Nozomi
We've all been waiting for you to come to us for help.
Honoka
What? Really?!
Player
All right. Let's go over the email again.
Player
“Going to school is agonizing. There's nothing fun about it. School is so boring, and I don't like it.”
Player
“I want to ask if everyone in μ's likes going to school. If you do, why do you like it?”
Honoka
I can't imagine how hard it must be to have to go somewhere you find boring every day.
Honoka
Maybe if we all write down what we like about school itself, we'll find some hints.
Honoka
I think it would be great if our answers could kick-start something for her.
Eli
But we have to be careful not to be too pushy.
Nozomi
That's right. Everyone reacts to things in their own way.
Nico
Even our tastes for what's fun and what's not can vary within this group.
Hanayo
I guess I'd say I'm not a fan of Eli and Umi's training…
Rin
And I love it!
Maki
We've got the two ends of the scale right here…
Honoka
So what is it about school that you guys like?
Umi
That's a little difficult to answer upon reconsideration. I must concur with Honoka's previous remark—I've never given this question much thought either.
Kotori
I have! A lot! First, it's because I can be a school idol. And all of you guys are here with me.
Kotori
Other than that, it's fun being in the same class as Honoka and Umi, and I love chatting together during our breaks.
Kotori
I like taking detours together after school too.
Rin
I also like being in the same class as Kayo-chin and Maki! I always look forward to having lunch together!
Maki
Hmm… I think we need to simplify our way of thinking.
Maki
How about we focus on what it is about our school itself that we really like, as Honoka said?
Maki
For me, I was happy to have access to a piano.
Maki
I liked having a place where I could play the piano any way I wanted without having to think about my family.
Umi
Personally… I suppose my equivalent would be the archery dojo. It's a place that allows me to invigorate and sharpen my mind.
Honoka
What's good about school, huh… Pointing out the great things school itself has to offer is important too. We should think about why we're able to smile every day as well.
Honoka
That's what I want to focus on!
