Ch. 27 Ep. 5: All Shapes and Sizes
After escaping to the Club, Shioriko sees how close Kanata and her younger sister Haruka are. She and Kaoruko are so different that it confuses her. To cheer her up, everyone with a sister meets up at a diner on their day off.
Shioriko
Um… What are you all here for?
Dia
We heard that you were having some trouble with your sister, and all of us have sisters of our own, so we're here to help you.
Shioriko
Did you call them here?
Player
Ahaha, I didn't realize that the crowd had gotten so big.
Honoka
Anyway, I want to hear about your older sister, Shioriko!
Chika
Me too, me too!
Eli
I'm curious about her too. She did help launch the School Idol Festival, after all.
Nico
Right. Plus I heard about this School Idol Exhibition thing. She's clearly something special, so we can't help wondering about her.
Honoka
Yeah! I'm so excited that there's a new event!
Chika
Everyone at our school is looking forward to it too!
Emma
I'm also quite curious about Miss Kaoruko.
Kanata
Hey, Shioriko. Tell us more about her!
Shioriko
I can, but you may end up disappointed.
Ruby
Why?
Shioriko
The Kaoruko I know is…probably not quite what you're all imagining.
Honoka
What, really?
Shioriko
Yes, I think so.
Shioriko
For example… When she was in high school, on weekends she'd stay up all night watching school idol videos, regardless of how much homework she had to do.
Ruby
I get that, though. School idol videos are just so much fun to watch!
Eli
Well, the issue is that she didn't do her homework.
Dia
And that's a very big issue. A student's duty is to study, first and foremost. Neglecting that is unthinkable.
Honoka
Ahaha… That hits a bit too close to home.
Chika
Urgh, let's just pretend we didn't hear that.
Shioriko
And on top of that, she'd sleep in until the afternoon on Sundays. She probably wouldn't have ever gotten up before nighttime if it weren't for me waking her.
Kanata
That's because beds are so comfy. It's hard to leave your bed when you have a day off.
Shioriko
In a sense, it might have been better if she had stayed asleep.
Shioriko
Because she slept so much during the day and couldn't fall asleep, she would wake me in the middle of the night to play games with her on multiple occasions.
Shioriko
Plus, she always treats me like a little kid, even now.
Shioriko
I'm not sure how to describe it, but from my point of view, she's kind of an annoying big sister.
Emma
Hmm, I can see why you're having trouble with her.
Emma
But no big sister hates her little sister or anything. I think it's because she loves you so much and just can't help herself.
Shioriko
I think that's just how it is in your case, Emma… Ah, but this is a good opportunity for me. I'd like to hear about everyone else as well, so please share your stories.
Dia
Let's see… First off, I'd like to state a solid fact, which is that sisters are an irreplaceable asset.
Dia
Take Ruby as an example. Just look at how cute she is! She's like an angel!
Dia
And she's also a hard worker. As a person, she's absolutely wonderful!
Ruby
Dia, you're embarrassing me…
Dia
There is no need to be embarrassed. I am simply stating the truth!
Dia
She's no ordinary little sister, either. She can sing and dance as well!
Eli
Oh, Alisa sings along to ÎĽ's' songs a lot at home too.
Honoka
The other day, Yukiho showed me a video of her and Alisa singing and dancing to a ÎĽ's song.
Kanata
Haruka's working just as hard as a school idol at Shinonome Academy!
Nico
Singing and dancing aside, I think that as big sisters, our little sisters will always be cute to us no matter how old they are.
Nico
They might be hard to deal with sometimes…
Nico
But when my little sisters look up at me adoringly, it's so precious. It makes me realize that I'm someone special in their eyes!
Chika
I'm the youngest in my family, so as a little sister I can understand how Shioriko feels.
Shioriko
Really?
Chika
Mito treats me like a little kid too, and she calls me names like “Chiklutz.” So mean, right?! Just because she was born a little earlier, she thinks she can boss me around!
Shioriko
Exactly!
Kanata
But she has her good points too, doesn't she?
Chika
Well… When I'm having trouble, she'll complain but still help me out. So I guess she can be nice too.
Chika
And when I'm sick, she'll make rice porridge and bring it to me with grated apple on top…
Chika
…even if I tell her to stay away because I don't want to get her sick.
Eli
Sounds like she cares about you a lot.
Chika
*Giggle* Yeah, maybe!
Shioriko
All of you know your sisters extremely well and vice versa. But I'm not so sure in my case…
Kanata
Uh oh. You're getting even more stressed about it.
