Ch. 26 Ep. 6: Combining Our Voices
It's the first night of the joint training camp on a deserted island. Everyone was blown away by Ai and Karin's impressive performance earlier, and they are now deciding whether to go solo or try something new themselves. What did Emma decide?
Kasumi
Hi, Emma! You wanted to see me? Oh?
Emma
There she is! Now we're all here.
Rina
We're all here? This is kind of an unexpected group. Rina-chan Board says, “Question mark?”
Kanata
Emma, what did you want to talk about?
Emma
Continuing the conversation from earlier… I'd like to form a unit with the four of us.
Rina
With the four of us?
Emma
Yeah.
Kasumi
Why the four of us? We all have different ambitions as school idols and our strengths are all so diverse.
Kanata
I agree. I don't think I could give a super-energetic performance the way Kasumi does.
Kasumi
*Chuckle* That's because I'm the only one who can give a true Kasumin performance. But the same goes for you, Kanata.
Rina
What do you think the four of us will be able to do, Emma?
Emma
I think we'll be able to show off all of the wonderful things about being school idols.
Emma
If you're wondering why I think that, it's because the four of us have something in common.
Rina
Something in common? What is it?
Emma
It's that we're all big fans of school idols. We love being school idols ourselves, of course, but I think we're just as passionate about being fans of them. What do you say?
Kasumi
Hmm, that's true. Now that you mention it, I am a big fan of my school idol self.
Rina
I'm everybody's fan. I love watching everyone's performances. I feel like we have a connection.
Kanata
I'm a huge fan of Haruka's!
Emma
Right? I get that we all want to win, and that winning is important, but there's something else I want to cherish even more than that.
Emma
I believe that a school idol's most compelling charms can't be decided by things like competitions.
Emma
That's what I want to express. If we're only focused on winning or losing, and keep clashing with one another, we won't be able to show people how amazing school idols are.
Rina
What you're saying sounds a bit complicated, but I think I understand.
Kasumi
Really? I don't quite get what you're saying… But you've piqued my curiosity.
Kanata
Hmm… If we do decide to team up, what are you thinking we'll do, Emma?
Emma
If the four of us team up, I wanna do the exact opposite of what Karin and Ai are doing. I want us to complement each other… Show a united front, you know?
Emma
I want it to feel like the four of us are joining hands, and sharing the warmth of our friendship.
Emma
I thought if we shared that heat, we would all end up feeling the same warmth in the end.
Kasumi
I still don't get what you're saying, but it sounds really nice.
Kanata
Yeah. I can picture that.
Rina
I want to give it a try.
Kasumi
Even if we're supposed to complement each other, don't blame me if I still stand out because of my cuteness. Let's do it!
[Fade in/out.]
Kanata
Moving on. I think this is the most important question. How can we actually convey that we're united through our performance?
Rina
Through our dancing?
Emma
What about singing so that our voices are layered? I really love all three of your voices.
Kanata
Harmonizing, huh? That sounds fun. I'm in.
Kasumi
That's a great idea! Let's use it!
Rina
I wanna wear matching costumes.
Kasumi
I want a fluffy-looking one.
Emma
*Giggle* It's gonna be fun coming up with matching designs.
Kanata
We'll ask the Prez to write our song… Was there anything else to decide?
Kasumi
There is! It's something really important!
Rina
What is it?
Kasumi
It's our unit name!
Kasumi
If we're teaming up, we should give ourselves a name like ÎĽ's or Aqours!
Kanata
Right! I want one!
Emma
What would be a good name?
Kasumi
Heh heh heh… How about the Fluffy Kasumin Club?
Kasumi
It could also be the Kasumin Cuties, or maybe the Cutie Kasumies.
Rina
Those aren't fair. That's not being united. Just no.
Kasumi
Oh, right…
Emma
I'd like a cute unit name. But I can't think of one right this very moment.
Kasumi
Any ideas, Kanata?
Kanata
I think a unit name is really important. Why don't we think of ideas from that “united front” that Emma mentioned, or from our harmonized voices?
