Ch. 2 Ep. 7: Group Strategy Meeting
After deciding, on your suggestion, that the School Idol Club perform as a group in the next event, everyone meets and discusses how to be their brightest, most appealing selves every day.
Emma
I think we should split into groups of three when we sing this part.
Shizuku
Yeah. Then from here to here can be one group. And from here to here another.
Kanata
Wait, we don't know everyone's vocal range. I think we should figure that out first before deciding who sings what part.
[Fade in/out.]
Ayumu
They're so dependable.
Karin
It's true. Look how efficient Kanata's movements are.
Kasumi
Shizuko is so cool. I mean, I know how to do those things too, of course.
Rina
What, specifically?
Kasumi
Urk!
Setsuna
It's reassuring to have three members with prior group experience.
Ai
Are you kidding me, Setsu? You're the one who won 8th place the other day! Tell us what to do!
Player
(Even though everyone seemed unsure when I first suggested forming a group, it looks like they're starting to enjoy themselves.)
Player
(It's nice to come together and work on a single goal.)
Player
(I want to see the individual appeal of each Nijigasaki member combine together to make something more, the same way μ's and Aqours' did at their performance in Akihabara.)
Ai
Hey, Chief!
Kanata
Hmph. You're ignoring me and taking a nap?
Player
Oh, e-excuse me! Can I help you with something?
Setsuna
I want to hear your thoughts about how to split up the singing, the chorus, and the dancing.
Kasumi
Do you have a secret plan to beat μ's and Aqours?!
Player
Uhh, well…
Player
I've been studying videos of μ's and Aqours' live shows since that day, and I have to say, their dancing is amazingly synchronized
Player
Even things like their poses and the timing of their jumps and landings are on point.
Ai
Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. I see.
Player
Oh, but even though they were doing the same choreography, each member made it her own.
Karin
So the point isn't to kill our individuality.
Kanata
That's a relief. I could never do things the way Karin does.
Ayumu
Th-That's a good point. Moves that look smooth with Karin's long limbs would look completely different if I tried them.
Rina
Is there anything we can do about that?
Karin
*Chuckle* But it's not like the choreography will be made just for me. This performance is for all of us. Also, there are poses that can make your arms and legs look longer.
Kasumi
What? Really?! I-I'd love to hear all about that. Please teach them during our group lessons!
Player
Oh, that's a great idea! With all of your unique personalities combined, we should be able to put on an amazing performance. Oh, I can't wait to see it!
Shizuku
Perhaps we should look back over our previous performances, and pick out the spots where our individuality really shined through?
Setsuna
The whole thing was videotaped, right? Let's watch it while we talk things over!
Emma
For this show, we should all chip in our ideas to make it the best performance ever!
Kasumi
We'll show the one who brought us together that we're just as good as μ's and Aqours!
Shizuku
That's right! If we're going to be standing on the same stage as them, we don't want people thinking we're not as good as they are!
Rina
I'd like you to tell us more about μ's and Aqours' strengths.
Player
Leave it to me!
Karin
I'm getting fired up! Can we play the video now? Let's review the choreography while we watch.
Emma
It's on my phone, so we can watch it now.
Setsuna
It wasn't that long ago, but it already feels nostalgic.
Karin
Stop reminiscing and start reviewing!
Setsuna
O-Okay!
Kanata
Rina, can you categorize everyone's singing ranges on your computer?
Rina
I was in the middle of doing that. See? What do you think?
Shizuku
Wow, that's great! This will make it much easier to decide who should sing which part!
Kasumi
Well, I want to sing whatever part I'd be best at.
Ai
Hey! We all have to cooperate, remember?
Ayumu
I think you should sing this part, Kasumi.
Kasumi
Aww, I love you, Ayumu!
Ai
What about me? You love me too, right?!
Kasumi
Y-Yes! I do, I do!
Player
(I wonder what μ's and Aqours are like in their daily lives. Do they act like us here at Nijigasaki? Are they more professional?)
Player
(The thought of seeing the same kind of performance from Nijigasaki that I saw at the μ's and Aqours joint performance feels like a dream.)
