Night Lights Ep. 6
Yoshiko
Urk… Ugh, I ate too much… My stomach's going to burst.
Nozomi
Are you okay? Do you want me to get you some water?
Yoshiko
No… I don't want to put anything else into my stomach…
Emma
What? You're not going to eat any more, Yoshiko? But there's still so much food left.
Umi
Emma! What is the meaning of that plate you have there?! You've got so much food on it! Ah! It's going to spill!
Emma
It's okay, relax. I won't spill a single piece of meat, a single grain of rice, nor a single drop of sauce, since this is our precious, precious food.
Hanamaru
Uh-huh! Since we're here, I want to try all the foods they have, zura! It's my duty as a food-lover, zura!
Umi
E-Even Hanamaru's in on it…
Karin
Ah well, let them be. Tonight's not the night to be a wet blanket.
Umi
Still, I would like for them to at least adhere to the bare minimum rules of etiquette…
Emma
All right! Once I've finished eating this plate, I'm gonna move on to dessert next!
Hanamaru, Yoshiko, Nozomi, Umi, Karin, Emma
Eeek!
Yoshiko
Huh?! What's happening?! It's pitch black!
Nozomi
Is it a blackout? The lights are still on outside, so it looks like the power's only out for this building.
Emma
Ack! I bumped into something… A table? I didn't break anything, did I?
Karin
Don't move too much, girls. Let's stay put until the power comes back on.
[Fade in/out.]
Yoshiko
The lights aren't coming on. It's like there's a tense mood in the room right now. I can really feel how uneasy everyone is.
Hanamaru
It was so bright, lively, and fun until just a moment ago. What if that fun atmosphere doesn't return when the lights come back on?
Emma
I don't like the thought of that. You don't get to go to parties every day. Isn't there anything we can do? Is there some kind of way to bring joy to people in the dark?
Umi
Perhaps, but it would be dangerous to carelessly move around. We may bump into tables or other guests and hurt someone.
Emma
Aw! I should've brought along my notebook of puns! I wrote down a whole bunch of them that Ai taught me. We don't have to move around to tell puns.
Umi
That's a firm no. Puns will make the room freeze over, if anything.
Nozomi
How about we take advantage of the dark and tell some ghost stories? The lighting outside gives off the perfect mysterious atmosphere.
Karin
That's also going to be counterproductive.
Hanamaru
I know! Songs, zura. Let's sing some songs!
Yoshiko
S-Songs? Right here? Right now?
Emma
Of course! We don't need to move around to sing! It's also fun for both the singers and the listeners!
Hanamaru
Yup! And look at the lighting effects outside. The colorful lights almost make it look like a live show venue, zura.
Hanamaru
We're school idols, after all. We should be able to bring smiles to everyone's faces with our songs! I'm sure that includes everyone here, too!
Umi
Songs make people smile. You are absolutely right. We know this better than anybody else.
Nozomi
No other method could suit us better than this.
Yoshiko
As expected of my little demon! For you to come up with such a brilliant idea is proof that you resemble your master in terms of sheer wisdom.
Karin
So that settles it, then. Let's give it a go. A special, brighter-than-ever, special live show to blow everyone's fears away!
Hanamaru, Yoshiko, Nozomi, Umi, Emma
(Hanamaru, Emma, Nozomi) Yeah! (Yoshiko) Yes! (Umi) Indeed!
