The Theater Club's next performance is based on the film, Roman Holiday.
Shizuku
A princess from overseas comes to Japan and then gets lost in Yokohama when she sneaks out.
Shizuku
That's when she meets a photographer and they grow close before having to part ways at the end. That's what the story's about.
Player
How romantic! I love the sound of it! Which role are you playing?
Shizuku
Well, um… I've been assigned the role of the princess.
Player
That's the perfect role for you.
Shizuku
What?! No! It's a tremendous challenge for me!
Shizuku
I mean, my idea of a princess is the kind I loved as a kid—the sparkly ones that would appear in fairytales.
Shizuku
Obviously, I've already watched Roman Holiday—as well as other films and depictions that feature princesses of different countries.
Shizuku
But I can't quite grasp the true essence of it in my mind. The concept is way too different from what I actually picture.
Shizuku
I can mimic their demeanors, but what exactly goes on in the minds of princesses?
Shizuku
If a princess came to Yokohama, what would surprise her? What would tug at her heartstrings? I don't have the slightest idea.
Player
Hmm. You make a good point. As a princess from overseas, I'm pretty sure she would start out knowing hardly anything about Japan.
Player
Hey, why don't we head over to Yokohama on our next day off?
Shizuku
What? Can we really?

What thoughts would go through a princess's mind upon seeing Yokohama?
Shizuku
I feel like I'll understand the concept of the role once I get the chance to think it over with you.
Player
Oh! Then maybe I'll take on the photographer's role and show you around. What do you say?
