Riko Ep. 18: Riko's Awakening?!
It's the second day of meetings. Riko is suddenly acting very differently than usual. She brushes off your shock at how unusually she is behaving and seems to have something to tell you.
Yoshiko
Riko is so late! How dare she make me wait like this? She lacks the discipline required of a little demon!
Mari
I saw the CYaRon! trio outside just now, so I'm sure she'll be here soon.
Player
I hope we can finalize the song and choreography today. We didn't make much progress during the last meeting.
Player
Oh, Riko! Good timing. Now that everyone's here, let's quickly—
Riko
My apologies for the delay, dear compatriots! Let us now solidify the path to our grand achievements in the human realm, my fellow emissaries of darkness!
Riko
The days where humans can slumber as peacefully as the calm ocean are no more. We shall rend it asunder like a bolt of lightning most dark!
Yoshiko, Mari
…Huh?
Mari
Oh my gosh… While I was preoccupied with other things, Riko's heart has crashed!
Player
What's wrong, Riko?! You're… You're just like Yoshiko now!
Yoshiko
Why do you sound so horrified?! And more importantly it's not Yoshiko… Anyway, I'm nothing like that!
Riko
There is nothing wrong with me. I have merely released the sealed essence of Guilty Kiss inside of me in order to carve my name upon the chronicles of humankind.
Player
S-Sealed…?
Riko
There is no time for idle chatter! We must create a stage most fitting for the darkest of daybreaks. For that is what we lack—darkness!
Riko
We have grown complacent within the light. We must obtain an even stronger power to lure people into our sweet cages! We must venture into the abyss of this world!
Player
Venture into the abyss? To do what?
Riko
To capture the night. For it is darker than noon.
Yoshiko
That's all you've got?!
Riko
The sunlit world brims with vim and vigor, whereas the moonlit night is the star-dusted realm of the otherworldly. We cannot call ourselves rulers of creation when we are masters of none!
Mari
Wow… She's gone from a school idol to something else completely.
Riko
We battle for the rule of the night and the pride of Guilty Kiss tonight! My friends… When all souls are asleep, we shall meet once again at the moonlit battlefield!
[Fade in/out.]
Player
The breeze feels so nice. The moon is really bright too, so we should be fine even without a flashlight.
Mari
The foam of the waves looks like scattered pearls glittering in the moonlight. I feel like if I scooped my hand in I'd really come away with a handful of pearls!
Yoshiko
Why are you two just chatting away like this is all nothing? At least feel a little wary of getting called out here in the middle of the night without a proper explanation!
Player
You're acting a lot more grounded than I thought you would, Yoshiko…
Mari
Well, we all saw how Riko has changed. I still can't believe what we witnessed. I wonder what happened. Did someone say something to her?
Player
But who? Wait, you don't think it's—
Riko
Sorry to keep you waiting! And I'm sorry about this afternoon. The preparations took longer than I expected.
Option 1: “What preparations?” |
---|
Player Wh-What preparations? Should we have brought something with us? I've only got my phone and wallet with me… Riko No need to worry. I've got all your gear in this bag. I believe you all have what it takes to harness the strongest dark weapon. |
Option 2: “What's that huge bag for?” |
Player Riko! Wh-What's up with that huge bag?! Riko It's got the gear we need for battle. Even I wouldn't be careless enough to force you to go into battle unarmed. |
Yoshiko
I can hear the contents jangling a lot… What on Earth did you bring in that bag?!
Mari
So? Are you going to send us into battle or whatever it is now?
Riko
Yes. The moon is so beautiful this eve. Its magical powers flow over. Now go! You must slay the evil spirits that have made their nest in this land and take the night!
Player
Riko! Where are you going?!
Mari
Hmm, I guess we'll just have to go after her. Onwards, to our battlefield!
Yoshiko
You're having a little too much fun with this!
