Kanata Ep. 39: A Sleepless Night Together
At first, Kanata thought there was nothing she could do about the problem of insomnia. However, after hearing from you and Ayumu, she starts to reconsider.
Kanata
Hey, you know, I thought of something over lunch.
Player
Yeah? What is it?
Kanata
Do you remember what you, Kasumi and Ayumu said to me in the dining room?
Kanata
You all said that when you listen to my stories, you start getting sleepy.
Kanata
So I thought I could send a story to the girl who emailed me.
Player
Good idea!
Kanata
*Giggle* Isn't it?
Kanata
I hope when she hears it, it puts her mind at ease and she can fall asleep.
Kanata
Or if she doesn't get sleepy, I hope she thinks it's an interesting story.
Player
So they'll enjoy them whether they fall asleep or not, right?
Kanata
That's right! And you know, there's something I want to interview you about.
Player
Huh? Me?
Kanata
What could I say that would put your mind at ease? What was it I said to you before? I wanna know in detail.
Player
Wha?! D-Do I have to tell you? That's kinda embarrassing…
Kanata
Come on! Tell me!
Kanata
Okay? I'm the only one who will ever hear it…
Player
Whaaat?!
[Fade in/out.]
Kanata
Hey, I got an email from that girl! She says her insomnia has been cured!
Player
That's great! But I always knew it would work. Anyone would get sleepy after hearing this…
[Fade in/out.]
Kanata
This is the story of twin stars. You and I were very close binary stars.
Kanata
They talked and sang together, and sometimes raced as shooting stars. They spent every day happily together.
Kanata
Even when the moon asked them to go to bed, the binary stars wouldn't get sleepy. They were having such fun that they wanted to stay awake forever.
Kanata
They'd hide from the moon and keep talking about what fun they'd have and how far they'd adventure the next day. They couldn't wait for tomorrow.
Kanata
So impatient were they, that they went to meet the sun. So the binary stars set out. It wasn't far to where the sun lived…
Kanata
But along the way, the binary stars fell into a dream. In the dream, too, they were together. The moon gently bathed them in its light as they slept.
[Fade in/out.]
Player
I wanna fall asleep after hearing that too!
Kanata
Ahaha, that was the story I told the girl who emailed me.
