Hanamaru Ep. 2: Library Anthology
As you wait for Hanamaru to check out her books, you and Ruby look at the notice board. Of the many postings, one in particular stands out.
Hanamaru
I'd like to borrow these, please.
Player
One, two, three…ten?! Is she seriously going to borrow all of those?
Ruby
I've seen her buy a whole basket of books at the bookstore.
Player
But these are borrowed books with a return date. Can she even read them all?
Ruby
I think Hanamaru can handle it.
Player
You do? …Hm?
Ruby
What's wrong?
Player
Look at the notice board. There are lots of flyers. There's an event calendar, too.
Ruby
When I was little I joined one of those with my sister.
Player
I remember going to a kids' event when I was little.
Player
A photo contest, disaster education – they have events from all over the town. Hm? Look at this poster.
[Fade in/out.]
Hanamaru
Sorry to keep you waiting! Okay, whoa, this is kind of heavy, zura…
Ruby
Are you all right, Hanamaru? Let me take half of those.
Hanamaru
I don't want to make you do that, zura. I borrowed them, so I'll carry them.
Player
The strap of your bag is digging into your shoulder. You should let me carry a few in my bag.
Hanamaru
Thanks.
[Fade in/out.]
Hanamaru
What were you guys talking about before, zura? Was there anything interesting on the notice board?
Player
Yeah, there was one thing. Take a look.
Hanamaru
An Original Library Anthology…?
Player
They're asking for original stories and poems from library patrons to display in the library. They start accepting entries today.
Hanamaru
Oh, I saw that when I came in, zura. A father and son were talking about doing that together.
Player
What about you?
Hanamaru
What about me?
Ruby
I thought you might be a pretty good writer.
Hanamaru
M-Me?! N-No way, zura!
Player
Oh, okay. I thought you'd be good because you read a lot and know so much stuff.
Hanamaru
Reading and writing are totally different, zura!
Ruby
I'm pretty sure your eyes lit up when you saw this poster, though.
Ruby
It made me think you were interested.
Hanamaru
W-Well…
