Hanamaru Ep. 1: Searching for Something
Taking a walk on your break, you decide to check out the library. As you walk around inside, you hear a familiar voice.
Player
(Let's see, where is the music and arts shelf?)
Player
(I wanted to read on my break from walking so I came to the library, but searching this much doesn't make it much of a break. I hope I can find it soon.)
Player
(I know libraries are supposed to be quiet, but this place is too quiet for comfort. I feel like I'm breathing too loudly.)
Hanamaru
Wait, this thing only types in hiragana, zura?
Ruby
If you want to type in kanji, hit the change button.
Player
(Huh? Those voices…)
[Fade in/out.]
Hanamaru
Hey, it's kanji now! This is the future, zura!
Ruby
H-Hanamaru, keep your voice down!
Hanamaru
Oh, sorry. I couldn't help it.
Player
Hanamaru, Ruby?
Hanamaru
Yeee?!
Ruby
Eek?!
Player
Whoa there! Shhh!
[Fade in/out.]
Ruby
You scared me!
Player
S-Sorry. I didn't think you'd be so surprised.
Hanamaru
Hello. What brings you to the library?
Player
Well, you guys are at the computer, so you must be searching for a book, right?
Hanamaru
We're looking for books on temple ceremonies, plant mythology, stewed foods, and stationery history, zura!
Player
That's quite the motley crew of books.
Hanamaru
I want to read about a bunch of stuff I've never researched before.
Player
Wouldn't it be faster to just ask a librarian?
Hanamaru
If I don't learn how to use a library computer or two, I'll never survive in this day and age, zura!
Player
Is the library search program such vital technology?
Ruby
When we went up to the counter, they seemed really busy with other patrons.
Player
I see.
Hanamaru
What kind of book are you looking for?
Player
I'm looking for a reference book for school idols by area. I saw they have it on the music and arts shelf, but I can't find it.
Ruby
Hey, I wanted to borrow that book, too!
Player
Really?
Hanamaru
Let's look together then, zura. I just finished my own search, so I'm free!
