Emma Ep. 8: Tranquil Voice
Emma received cookies from an underclassman as thanks for watering the plants. While eating them in the club room with everyone, Emma talks about what happened when she received the cookies.
Kasumi
Emma, are you sure it's okay to eat these cookies? They were for you.
Emma
Yes. She said she made too many, so I should eat them with everyone.
Karin
Anyway, I had no idea you were so involved. You don't look like it, but you really do act like a big sister.
Emma
D-Don't look like it? What are you trying to say, Karin?!
Shizuku
*Giggle* I wanted to see that, too! You got to see it up close, right? Tell me all about it!
Player
Sure, so here's what happened…
[Fade in/out.]
Emma
Oh, hey!
Player
Huh? Who's that?
Emma
The underclassman I mentioned earlier.
Emma
As promised, I helped water the plants for you. My friend helped too.
Player
Emma let me help. Your flowers are really beautiful… Huh?
Emma
Y-You're eyes are all red. Are you okay?
Emma
Did something bad happen? I don't know if I can help, but you can talk to me, okay?
[Fade in/out.]
Emma
I see… That's too bad. And really sad…
Emma
Aww, I'm sorry I can't do anything to make you feel better… But it's okay to cry when you want to cry. You don't need to hold it in. I'm always here for you.
Emma
I'll be here to keep holding your hand.
[Fade in/out.]
Player
And so Emma held her hand until she stopped crying.
Kasumi
That's sooo sweet!
Player
She even sang a song to cheer the girl up. She said she hadn't heard a nursery rhyme since she was a kid.
Shizuku
A nursery rhyme, huh? Those are really calming.
Player
She was really taken with Emma. She even started requesting songs. Before we knew it, she was happy and smiling.
Karin
Makes sense. Emma's voice has a mysteriously soothing charm to it.
Emma
A-Alright, that's enough of that. You're making me feel embarrassed…

I would listen to their troubles, but I could never sing to calm them down.
Emma

Kasumi
I think she calmed down because it was you, Emma. It wouldn't have worked if it was anyone else.
Player
Kasumi's totally right.
Emma
I wasn't really able to help her with my words, but I still helped ease her mind, huh?
Shizuku
I'm sure that's why she gave you cookies.
Karin
And a ton of them at that.
Emma
I see… *Giggle* Well, that's good then!
