Shizuku #198: Witch and Magical Girl
Kasumi
By the way, your water fountain timing was spot-on the other day, Shizuko. How did you do that?
Shizuku
It was just a coincidence.
Kasumi
Really? It seemed too perfect to be coincidence.
Shizuku
I'm glad it looked that way. I tried my best to improvise so that it'd seem natural.
Kasumi
Seriously?! You're such a great actress! It looked like real magic! I-I mean, I could've easily pulled that off, too.
Shizuku
*Giggle* Magic, huh? I used to always wish that I could really use magic when I was little. I was probably around the same age as those girls.
Kasumi
I did the same! Did you ever pretend like you could?
Shizuku
All the time! I'd wrap myself up in a black curtain.
Kasumi
That's grim, Shizuko! I wore a pink, frilly dress and pretended like I could transform by using my magic wand.
Shizuku
Pink? For a witch?
Kasumi
Yeah! But I always considered myself more of a magical girl than a witch!
Shizuku
Really? When I think of someone who uses magic, I usually imagine an old lady.
Kasumi
No way! That's not cute at all!
Shizuku
Well, of course not. Witches aren't cute.
Kasumi
Hm? What witches are you talking about, Shizuko?
Shizuku
Like the ones in Macbeth.
Kasumi
Huh?
Shizuku
Shakespeare's tragedy. These really mysterious and scary witches appear in it. I always wanted to play one of those roles.
Kasumi
Oh, THOSE witches! I know what you're talking about! I love them, too!
Shizuku
Really?!
Kasumi
O-Of course!
Shizuku
Kasumi!
Kasumi
What, what, what? Why'd you suddenly grab my hand?!
Shizuku
I can't believe you like them, too! I'm so happy! There's actually a showing of Macbeth this weekend. Would you like to go see it together?!
Kasumi
What?! I-I guess we can!
Kasumi
(Oh no! There's no way I can admit that I have no idea what it is now!)
Shizuku
Ahhh, I'm…really looking forward to this weekend!
