Hmm. All I did was completely focus on moving my feet. Oh! And I guess I made sure I didn't lift my posture up while I skated.

I see! You did keep your center of gravity low the whole time. To go faster you must need to keep your body low, otherwise you create more wind resistance. Now I get it.

I'm not sure what gravity's center's gotta do with anything, but I just focused on skating as fast as I could!
