Why did I have to already have plans yesterday? I can't believe I missed their performance!
Riko
Oh, there you are! I've been looking for you.
Player
Ack, Riko! Please say you didn't hear me just now.
Riko
Hear you doing what?
Player
Uhh, nothing! (Whew, that's a relief.)
Riko
You were pretty sad you couldn't make it to the recital, right? I figured I'd come around to at least tell you how it went.
Player
Thanks! Yoshiko and the others told me it was awesome!
Riko
*Chuckle* Only because I had Yoshiko, Karin, and the others there supporting me.
Player
And how was it playing piano four-hands with Maki?
Riko
I was a little nervous, but it was really fun!
Riko
We practiced over and over again together before the recital, so I feel like it ended up being a great experience.
Player
Wow, that's great!

| Player Did you get any advice from Maki during practice? Riko Yup! Sometimes, I'd initiate and ask her questions, and other times she'd point out things she noticed as well. Riko Maki knew me so well that I ended up having to ask her how she knows so much about me. Riko She laughed and said she could just tell by listening to me play. Is it really possible to learn that much about someone from just music? |

| Player Playing together must be a lot different than what you're used to, huh? Riko Yeah! Maki took the lead, so I managed to follow along, but… Riko Apparently all of my worries and my excitement were as plain as day to her. Riko When playing piano four-hands, the melodies are connected. Perhaps that goes for our feelings as well? |

I hope everyone who watched our performance enjoyed themselves just as much as we did.

I'm sure they did. I wish I could have seen you two perform, too…

Huh? You mean…me and you? I'm not Maki. There's no way I could pull it off.
Riko
I don't want you to be Maki. You and Maki are completely different people.
Riko
But I want to share the joy of playing music together as a pair with you.

Player
No! I'm not sure how good I'll be, but I want to try! Go easy on me, okay?
Riko
Only if you'll go easy on me too.
