Mia #805: Skating Hand-in-hand
Player
Wow, it's been so long since I've ice-skated! Let's skate our hearts out today, Mia.
Mia
You really get that excited over ice skating? You actually are a little baby.
Option 1: “I've been looking forward to this for ages.” |
---|
Player But I've been looking forward to hanging out with you for ages! Mia W-Well, then you leave me with no choice. I guess I'll just have to skate with you. |
Option 2: “I couldn't wait to hang out with you.” |
Player But you've been so busy recently, so we haven't gotten many chances to hang out. That's why I couldn't wait. Mia Well, I'm not really that opposed to skating or anything. So I suppose I'd be willing to join you. |
Player
Thanks! Come on, let's hurry up and get started!
[Fade in/out.]
Player
W-Whoa, balancing is harder than I thought… Whoops!
Mia
Watch out! Are you okay, Little Baby?
Player
Ow… Yeah, I'm all right. I just slipped is all.
Mia
Here, take my hand.
Player
Thanks, Mia. Hup!
Mia
Fine, fine, I guess I'll show you how it's done. Here, copy me.
Mia
Huh? Wh-Whoa… Aaah!
Player
Mia!
Mia
Ouch…
Player
Are you all right?
Mia
Yes, I'm fi—
Mia
Wait! Y-You didn't see anything! It's because this isn't an NYC skating rink! I can skate way, way better back in the states.
Player
Oh, are Japanese and American skating rinks really all that different? I had no idea.
Mia
Th-They are! The skating rinks in Manhattan are outdoors. At night, you get a really pretty view of all the skyscrapers.
Player
You can skate while looking at the scenery? That sounds lovely.
Mia
Yeah. And at the skating rink in Central Park, you can rent out gear to play ice hockey.
Player
That sounds like fun! I wish I could go ice skating in New York City someday.
Mia
Okay. When you do, I'll show you around.
Player
Thanks, Mia! I can't wait. Oh, yeah, that reminds me. Let's hold hands so we don't slip again.
Mia
Excuse me?! Wh-What are you talking about? That's embarrassing!
Player
Come on, Mia, please! I just want to ice skate with you. Can't I?
Mia
W-Well, I can't say no to that.
Mia
Here. Take my hand, and don't you dare let go.
