Night Lights Ep. 1

Hanamaru

“Candlelight glow comes from everywhere, and nobles in their finery adorn the garden like flowers. Oh, how it all shines. It's nighttime now, but it feels as bright as day.”

Hanamaru

*Sigh* How lovely.

Hanamaru

The soft glow of candles lighting up the night, pretty gowns, and a sumptuous feast! Oh, how I wish I could visit that world, zura.

Yoshiko

What are you muttering to yourself about?

Hanamaru

Waugh! Y-Yoshiko! How long have you been there?!

Yoshiko

I told you, it's Yo-ha-ne! And I just got here. It was a little scary coming into the library only to find you behind the counter, looking down with a silly grin on your face.

Hanamaru

I never thought I'd hear that from a constant self-proclaimed fallen angel, zura.

Yoshiko

It's not self-proclaimed, it is simply sheer fact that I am a fallen angel! Everlasting truth! No matter if black crows turn white, I will still be a fallen angel!

Hanamaru

Yes, yes, I get it. So, what does the mighty fallen angel need from the library, zura?

Yoshiko

I came here to check out a book, of course. Do you have the book written down here?

Hanamaru

It doesn't occur to you to look for it yourself, zura?

Yoshiko

Well, I knew you would definitely be able to find it if it's here, Zuramaru. Pretty please?

Hanamaru

I guess I've got to, then. Fine, zura. Wait a moment.

[Fade in/out.]

Hanamaru

Sorry for the wait, zura! There was just one copy. I should've known it would be a book like this. You really do like this stuff, zura.

Yoshiko

Uh-huh, thank you.

Hanamaru

Hey! That's my book! You can't just go reading it, zura.

Yoshiko

Don't worry, I didn't move your bookmark. Did you have that silly grin on your face because you were reading this? Even though you're on the job!

Hanamaru

Reading IS part of a library committee member's job, zura! And besides, I've been looking forward to reading this book forever. I just couldn't wait, zura!

Yoshiko

Is it that good? I've only gotten a glimpse of the beginning part so far.

Hanamaru

It's really good. A girl moves to the royal capital from her rural hometown to be a singer and ends up fighting a plot against the country. It's a suspense and fantasy, zura.

Yoshiko

Has your taste in reading changed, Zuramaru?

Hanamaru

I especially loved the scene where the royal princess, who's made friends with the girl from the country, invites her to a soiree. It felt so real!

Hanamaru

It was just like I was there with them experiencing the party too!

Yoshiko

Oh, I see. So that's why you were muttering about gowns and feasts.

Hanamaru

I wish I'd get invited to a party like that someday, zura.

Yoshiko

If you want to go that badly, I'll take you to one! A demonic banquet in honor of Yohane, that is!

Hanamaru

I don't want to go to anything that scary-sounding, zura.

Hanamaru

Hmm? I have a message… It's from Karin, zura.

Yoshiko

Karin? What does it say?

Hanamaru

She's thanking me for recommending her a book the other day, zura. And… Oh!

Yoshiko

What?! What is it?

Hanamaru

She's inviting me…to a soiree, zura!
