Aloha! Tropical Getaway Ep. 6
Kasumi
Hula dance choreography has its own meaning. All of the dances seem to carry a message or a story within them.
Kanata
I heard that part too. She said that hula dancing is like telling a story by standing up straight and swaying gently to the rhythm.
Kasumi
Face your palms downward. Then turn them over like this. That means “flower.”
Kanata
She said that dancing conveys your emotions to other people as well as to nature.
Kanan
Whoa. I feel like the dance moves got a bit easier to do, now that I know they have meaning.
Honoka
Wanting to convey a message and expressing emotions is pretty similar to our work as school idols, even if this is different from how we usually dance.
Rin
I think I get it now!
Ruby
Putting emotions into the dance steps is exactly like what we do!
Kanan
Keep in mind the emotions you want to convey, and the meaning…
Honoka
Extend your spine and keep it straight, but stay flexible.
Ruby
Flower, star, rain, rainbow… There are so many gorgeous dance steps.
Rin
Relax and try not to tense up too much!
Kasumi
You're the one who looks tense, Rinko.
Rin
Like this then?
Kanata
Everyone's doing really great!
Kasumi
I feel like I'm dancing better than I was earlier too!
Ruby
Dancing like this is much more fun when you put your heart into it.
[Fade in/out.]
Rin
I had a great time!
Honoka
It was so tough to keep my arms held up high like that.
Kasumi
The slow movements felt like they worked all kinds of different muscles.
Kanan
I think we learned a lot of things that we can bring into our dance moves as well. Now I really understand how important it is to put emotion into your dancing.
Ruby
Dancing is so much fun!
Kanata
Hey, let's go do that next.
Honoka
Do what?
Kanata
Fire dancing! I bet it'll be a blast.
Honoka, Kanan, Ruby, Rin, Kasumi
Whaaat?!
Kanata
All right! Off we go, everyone! Follow meee!
Kasumi
Hold on, Kanata! Wait for uuus!
