Alt Accounts with Play Games/Game Center
Only one SIFAS GL account and one SIFAS JP account can be linked per Play Games account or Apple ID. If you want to link one account on each server, you don't need this guide, it should just work! But if you want to link multiple SIFAS accounts from one server, you need to create new PG/Apple accounts and change between them as described below.
Note that in both cases, just switching your Play Games account or Apple ID won't change your SIFAS account. You will stay in your current SIFAS account until you use the Data Transfer menu to restore the SIFAS account linked to the PG/Apple account, so don't forget to press that button when changing.
Play Games
In case you haven't yet, install the Google Play Games app (that's different from the Google Play app!). You will need to access the Settings there (via the three dots in the top right) to change accounts.
Linking Multiple Accounts
- Make sure your game is currently using the SIFAS account you want to have linked, and make sure the game is closed.
- Head to the Settings in the Google Play Games app.
- If you don't have another Play Games account yet: at the very top, tap the account info (Image 1) to create a new PG account. You can create a PG account from any Google account on your device - if you need more, you can create new Google accounts from the same dialog.
- After creating the new Play Games account (or if you had one already), you can change the PG account SIFAS uses. Scroll down in the Google Play Games Settings, and find “Change account for games”.
- In this screen (Image 2), you can choose which PG account SIFAS will connect to. Click “Change”, and pick which PG account your current SIFAS account should be linked to. (You can also pick “Ask each time” if you plan to change between accounts frequently - that way, Play Games will ask you every time you start SIFAS.)
- Start SIFAS, and head to the Data Link dialog.
- Hit the “Link” button for Google Play Games Services. (If the button is already gold because you linked before, make sure to unlink and link again - SIFAS can only tell it's linked to a PG account, but not which, so that does not guarantee the SIFAS account is linked to the correct PG account. Unlinking and linking again makes sure it is linked to whatever PG account you have set right now.)
Changing Accounts
- Make sure the game is closed.
- Change the PG account SIFAS connects to to the one that is linked to the SIFAS account you want to change to, via the Google Play Games Settings as described above.
- Start SIFAS, and hit the Data Transfer button on the title screen.
- Choose to restore an account from Google Play Games Services. You will be offered to switch to the SIFAS account associated with the current PG account.
Game Center
Linking Multiple Accounts
- Make sure your game is currently using the SIFAS account you want to have linked, and make sure the game is closed.
- If you don't have another Apple ID yet, create a new one.
- After creating the new Apple ID (or if you had one already), head to the Settings in iOS, then go to the Game Center settings (Image 1).
- Sign out of Game Center at the very bottom of the screen. This will disable the Game Center service.
- Re-enable Game Center by tapping the toggle button. A dialog will pop up, allowing you to sign in with your main Apple ID, or sign in with that other Apple ID by tapping “Not ___?” (Image 2).
- Once logged into the other Apple ID, start SIFAS, and head to the Data Link dialog.
- Hit the “Link” button for Game Center. (If the button is already gold because you linked before, make sure to unlink and link again - SIFAS can only tell it's linked to a Apple ID, but not which, so that does not guarantee the SIFAS account is linked to the correct Apple ID. Unlinking and linking again makes sure it is linked to whatever Apple ID you have set right now.)
Changing Accounts
- Make sure the game is closed.
- Sign out of Game Center, and sign in to the Apple ID that is linked to the SIFAS account you want to change to, via the Settings as described above.
- Start SIFAS, and hit the Data Transfer button on the title screen.
- Choose to restore an account from Game Center. You will be offered to switch to the SIFAS account associated with the current Apple ID.
