Bags

Bags are guaranteed Drops at the end of a Live, based on the Formation's total Technique or the amount of Skip Tickets used.

Normal Play / Autoplay

When playing the Live, the Base Technique of all Units and Accessories in the Formation is summed up and used to decide how many Bags will drop. The Live will drop one Bag if the Minimum Technique for that Live is reached, and then additional Bags for reaching a certain amount of Technique past that threshold, up to the maximum Bag amount defined for the Live.

Skip Tickets

When using Skip Tickets, the Formation's total Technique is ignored and you get a fixed amount of Bags instead.

Difficulty Odd-Numbered Skips Even-Numbered Skips
Beginner / Intermediate 1 1
Advanced / Advanced+ / Challenge 1 2
Story Ch1, Ch20 Normal, Ch21 Normal 0 0
Other Story Stages 0 1

Due to rounding, it is optimal to use an even number of Skip Tickets for some difficulties, to get an extra Bag. For example, from Advanced upwards, a single skipped Live will always give a single Bag, and using an even amount of Skip Tickets will result in an equal amount of 1-bag and 2-bag Skip Lives, but using an odd amount of Skip Tickets will always have one more 1-bag Skip Live than 2-bag Skip Lives.

Before the v2.0 update, drops from Skip Lives were displayed seperately, which made this obvious to the player. Since that update, Skip Live rewards are stacked, so it's impossible to tell which items came from which source in-game. However, that stacking happens on the client side - the server still sends information about every single drop from each Live seperately. That means intercepting the network traffic allows one to still check this, and shows that Bags from Skip Lives still work the same way, even if it's not visible to the player anymore.

Bonus Costume Drops

During some campaigns, playing certain songs with certain costumes equipped on the Formation will grant extra drops. These drops are a seperate category - they look like regular drops before being opened, but are then surrounded by a purple border to differentiate them. They also get stacked seperately from regular drops when skipping Lives.

See Bonus Costumes for more details.
